The Southwest Regional Cup Series will not be scheduling any races in 2012. Scheduling conflicts and other interests caused three of the participating tracks to withdraw from the series.
If you are a racer who placed in the top 3 of your class and participated in at least 6 of the 10 races in 2011 please contact the series administrator at

eKartingNews.com just published their 2011 driver rankings. SWRC racers Jake French and Connor Wagner both made it in the top 10 in the Stock Moto class. 2011 was their rookie year in the Senior class for both drivers. Congratulations to Jake French placing in 5th spot nationally and also to Connor Wagner placing in 9th!
Connor Wagner wants to thank several people who supported him along the way this year including: Brandt & Nick Lucido; Mike Jones & Kevin Adds at Dallas Karting Complex, Rodney Berryhill at Oklahoma Motorsports Complex, John Sefcik at SRS Engines and John Van Nghiem at Fastech Racing!
Jake French would like to thank Dave Pauly at 3G Kart Racing, Burger King, Birel and his family for their support.
We look forward to watching these young drivers' progress in 2012!
The SWRC Finals at Dallas Karting Complex was a huge success with racers from as far away as Mexico and Kansas traveling to Texas to take part in the first race at DKC!
Red Bull came out with the Red Bull Girls and gave away drinks and The Fan 105.3 Fantasy Girls participated in the awards ceremony. The helicopter stayed busy giving free rides all day Sunday. At the opening ceremony Jazz saxophone player Keith Anderson played the national anthem live while First Flight Tandem parachute jumpers floated down against clear blue skies! The upper deck spectator area afforded a panoramic view of the racing.
Here is an awesome video onboard Connor Wagner's Intrepid / SRS Engines powered 125cc Stock Shifter kart. Sunday's 125cc Stock Shifter final heat was very exciting. Evan Walters, an Oklahoma driver, led the majority of the race with Chris Jennings, Nick Lucido and Connor Wagner battling for 2nd through 4th positions right behind him. Connor Wagner managed to pass Jennings and Lucido but was unable to get around Evan Walters. Wagner patiently followed Walters around the track, keeping the pressure on him. Connor Wagner was able to pull up beside Walters in the last few turns of the last lap and it was an astounding drag race to the finish line with Wagner pulling ahead of Walters by just 5 hundredths of a second!
Congratulations Connor Wagoner for winning the S2 Stock Shifter class on Sunday and the custom painted helmet!
We would like to thank all the local racers that came out to support Dallas Karting Complex and the SWRC series and also everyone that traveled to participate. The series was very excited to have the Junior Super Sportsman class participate for the first time!
