Racers United at SWRC raceJune 17, 2011, Katy, TX - Racers United Charitable Fund raised $200.00 at the latest Southwest Regional Cup event held in Katy, Texas. The money raised will be going to the American Red Cross Joplin Fund to help victims of the deadly tornado that tore through the Missouri city. Unfortunately we had members of the Regional series that lost loved ones in the tragic event. A raffle was held throughout the event which raised $400 with $200 of it going to the winner and the rest to the American Red Cross. To date, Racers United has raised in excess of $7,000 at multiple events throughout the year. Racers United has several events remaining in 2011 with a goal to raise $20,000 by year end. Special thanks to the SWRC/ Katy staff and Charlie Swayne of Ironrock Raceway who ran the event.
