I don't think that the SWRC series should break the SR shifter drivers into two classes S1 and S2 , I think that the Master and Jr should be left as is but to break up the Sr drivers into two groups will hurt the already low kart count.we don't need this at the regional level,it's different at the super nats where you have 60 to 80 drivers and you can seperate that many into intermediate and expert drivers,i think it should be disscussed before the first race at katy my 2 cents Brandt Lucido :?:

Brandt:

I agree.

I did some checking on this with SKUSA as this question came up at NTK. Unless its a SKUSA sanctioned event, the S1, S2, S3, license classifications do not apply. You typically separate the group into juniors, seniors and masters. The non SKUSA series can chose what to run.

SWRC selected the S2 designation as their standard senior stock moto class. This bumps the weight up to 395 lbs.

Someone please chime in and correct me if I have received bad information.

Thanks and we'll see you Friday.

Dirk

Are you asking just for the Stock shifters? Stock is just 2 groups for SWRC, S2 and S5, unless I'm reading the recognized class list wrong. I think the S1 for SWRC is the ICC/Mod class, didn't follow SKUSAs designation but I could be wrong, and it's being used as a local option so no year end recognition. Only reason I think that is that for S1 they list C12/MS98 as the fuel, any SKUSA stock class is MS98.

I would have liked to see SWRC use S1 (SKUSAs S1, Pro-Stock), S4 (Stock Masters), and S5 (Jr. Stock) but they didn't. I suspect we will all run as one group anyway.

I was curious why I saw your name entered as S1 and not S2. Is that where your question comes from, which designation SWRC chose? I feel like my answer doesn't mean much as I think I'm missing a point somehow.

Hey I'm ok with running the xtra 10 lbs and if it's all stock shifters Sr group thats ok,I just thought we had to run what lic. Skusa issued us and we didn't just want to run against {Jordon) who by the way will not make this week end he hurt his back,or one or two other s1 guys, it's great to have one big class !! so we may be changing our designation to s2 when we get down there!!! we should discuss this at the drivers meeting and get it cleared up before the season gets started!

I don't think SWRC is worried about the actual SKUSA license system as not many are S1 level, S1 takes an "A" license. I'm sure Jordon is by default being the reigning KOS. Nick, Jennings, and Jones are by past SNats results, they might give me one if I applied but I'm old and fat and would never run S1 but could still run S4 where I belong. I think the license thing makes it a little confusing if we aren't in a SKUSA sanctioned region.

Hopefully some of our guys can give Nick and Clint some competition, we've got 2-3 that are pretty quick. Course, quick by my definition might be different from anybody elses! :) I'd like to shadow his bumper all day but I don't believe pigs are flying around yet. See you this weekend.

Good job and thanks for coming to all the NTK guys who came down for SWRC. Everybody that came down threw it down and schooled some us on our own track. Thanks to Brandt for sharing a little info on Sunday seemed to send things in the right direction but I have much more to cover. Thanks to Jordon for not lapping me Saturday, I'm think he could have.

I'm not sure how the class thing will work out but it was cool to have 16 on Sat. and 13 on Sun. on the grid (13 stockers Sat. and 12 Sun.) I talked with Rodney about a Masters and he was open to it if the numbers are there. I think only 3 of us were Masters and there are only 1 or 2 more that I know of in Katy that are active. I think there might be 2 more someday, getting ready to make their returns to racing. Couldn't say who might really travel out of those.
